Long before Game of Thrones made George R. R. Martin a household name he wrote a short novella entitled Nightflyers in 1980.
This is an original production used very early draft script by Robert Jaffe (his fourth and last) and it bears very little resemblance to the final movie. Certainly this would have made an even better, if much more expensive picture. There is more horror in the script along with substantially more dialogue and a very different story.
Although the film has now gained a somewhat cult status, at the time the director Robert Collector left before editing even began and asked for his name to be removed from the film. This was his second picture and he only directed three in his life. It was released to scathing reviews.
Nice article here from Stuart Land on his work on the movie as a sculptor.
It is on white paper between orange end cards and bound with brass fasteners and is in excellent condition.
