This item is a large shell painting palette used in the 2000 shipwreck drama Cast Away, starring Tom Hanks. This shell can be seen as set dressing in the cave during the scenes where Chuck Noland (Hanks) is painting his legacy across the cave walls. This is a real shell that has been covered with a brown latex substance on it's inside. The latex has been detailed with many different textures and debris to portray a dried paint like quality.
