  Description:

Section of the Great Serpent's sculpted by the disney artist Wah Ming Chang and used for the live action sequences in George Pal's 1964 classic the 7 Faces Of Dr Lao.

Wah Chang worked on The Time Machine, The Planet of The Apes and went on to design the original Star Trek Communicator and Tricorder.

The serpent was a mix of both live action and stop motion effects and this piece is a large section from the live action model.

I was told that the piece was purchased from the Forrest J Ackerman collection where it was on display in Grizzlyland, a cavernous space beneath the Ackermansion.
