Les Grossman’s (Tom Cruise) glasses from the satirical action comedy Tropic Thunder (2008) with his MTV Movie Awards gold dollar chain. The film stars Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr and Jack Black as a group of actors who, while shooting a war movie in the jungle accidentally find themselves lost and having to become real soldiers. Les Grossman appears at various points throughout the film as the obnoxious movie executive and can be seen wearing the glasses throughout. The dollar chain was not the piece worn in the film but the one worn by Cruise at the MTV Movie Awards that year for which he recreated his famous dance seen during the end credits.

The dollar chain is made of metal that has been sprayed gold with the dollar medallion constructed of resin with diamanté attached. The glasses are made of plastic which are silver and grey in colour with clear lenses. Is one of only three pairs of glasses used for Less Grossman (Tom Cruise) in Tropic Thunder
