This is an original pre-production draft shooting script for Steven Soderbergh's Traffic written by Stephen Gaghan and based on the UK miniseries written by Simon Moore.
The final shooting script has been previously published by Newmarket Press as part of the Newmarket Shooting Script Series. That version is different to the final film in terms of chronology mostly.
This draft predates the published version and includes multiple differences, the most significant being that Michael Douglas' character is called Robert Lewis throughout. In the final version it became Robert Wakefield.
Additionally there are many references to specific brands or makes in this draft that were later made generic in the final script. Suburban's instead of SUVs, Sudafed instead of Red Pills, etc.
There are also many dialogue changes and additional dialogue including Caroline Wakefield (Erika Christensen) singing a mashed up version of the 1st and 2nd verses of Leonard Cohen's Chelsea Hotel #2 in their room at Villa Elaine (see the third picture).
