A Stop Motion Tree Statue Miniature Display from Tim Burton’s 1988 dark comedy, Beetlejuice. This item comes from the scene in which Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton) wreaks havoc on a dinner party by making two abstract statues come to life to attack the guests. This particular statue features a rectangular prism base that supports a Christmas tree-shaped structure. Made mostly of foam latex and painted with varying shades of green the piece has been constructed around a metal frame with hinges in the arms of the Christmas tree so that the statue could be manipulated to crawl across the floor using stop motion effects.
This item comes beautifully presented on a custom made wooden display stand with the films title on the front. The title, which is backlit, can be illuminated by depressing a button on the back of the display. Please note that this item has sustained wear to the material, which has hardened over the years, however this piece was faithfully restored to preserve its integrity. During the restoration, cracks were patched and repainted while small areas that were missing foam latex were repaired. These careful restorations were made to be as sympathetic to the original piece, allowing the finish to remain largely original. Including the display.
