The screen-used surviving Cyberscout 'Cyberman' from 1985's 'Attack of the Cybermen'. This has been a labour of love, restoration project when I first bought the costume over ten years ago. See my website for more details of the resotration.
The costume is one of the original 'Imagineering' suits created for 'Earthshock' and then subsequently re-used for the next couple of stories. Two black Cyberscouts were made for 'Attack' but one was used fro pyrotechnic work and generally blown up! This costume is the surviving one. The chest piece is also original, with the name 'Roger' (one of the cyber-actors) written fiently on the inside. The boots are original, with BBC felt marked lettering scribed on the insides.
The helmet sadly, is not original but is of interest. I obtained it directly from Stuart Evans of 'SEVANS' models who cast it from the original BBC mold. So, as close as you can get.
The Cyberscout was in very poor condition due to the original latex coating falling away (a very common problem with 80's Cybermen). If I had not intervened, the costume would have slowly fallen apart. I fixed the costume to a mannequin for support and painted the costume in a thin resin whilst re-attaching the costume's meshing. Ultimately I re-psrayed the entire ensemble and then hand painted gun metal highlights as per the original finish. It forms a centre piece of my collection!
