A prop cheque used in the first of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, Batman Begins. After losing his parents in a tragic armed robbery, young billionaire Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) turns to a life of vigilantism and becomes the saviour of Gotham City, Batman.
Seen in Bruce’s wallet as he plays the playboy billionaire at a Gotham City hotel, this cheque is printed on white paper and features Bruce Wayne’s name, address and telephone number, a series of codes and the details of Gotham City Bank. Spaces on the cheque allow for the addition of the day’s date and monetary amounts in US dollars. All of this is on a backdrop of an old map showing North and Central America.
