An original body armor tunic worn by Achilles (Brad Pitt) in the 2004 epic film Troy. Achilles is the lead character of the film, starring as the leader of the Myrmidon soldiers as the Greeks battle the Trojans.
Achilles wears two distinct styles of body armor in the film - a gold armor, and this black leather-style body armor (tunic.) He is seen wearing it several times throughout the film, including the climatic raid on the Trojan city.
This distinct wrap-around style tunic is made from lined black leather, with additional detailing such as brass-studs. There is a spandex layer attached to the back section which wraps around the front of the actor and velcros closed, underneath the front of the armor. The front tunic also has tape applied to the interior, theoretically to have it fit as snug as possible to the actor's chest. Additional armor pieces hang at the front crotch of the tunic, and the pieces laces up at the rear.
This specific tunic can be screen-matched to several shots during Achilles' death sequence. The tunic has small CGI tracking dots affixed to the front - simple yellow stickers. These tracking dots were mistakenly left in to several shots in the film, and can clearly be seen on screen, allowing the tunic to be uniquely identified.
As the tunic was used for Achilles' death scene, it also features the bloody SFX marks on the front where the arrows hit, and a trail of dried stage blood runs down the front.
