Street Judge´s Helmet
 

A street judge’s helmet from the SylvesterStallone sci-fi movie Judge Dredd (1995). This helmet formed part of the standard protective equipment used by all street judges in the Big Meg. Made from fibreglass with a tinted visor, the helmet ispainted blue and red with a brass-coloured metal badge on the front.
The helmet has a rear panel that moves to allow easy fitting and removal, and is completed by a thick padded liner, made to ensure the performer wearing the helmet was as comfortable as possible in the close-fitting piece.

The costumes were originally designed by Emma Porteus, a prolific designer who perhaps is best remembered for her work on “Aliens” with Terry English, but it was renowned fashion designer Gianna Versace who was hired to design the 'Judge' uniforms that Sylvester Stallone and other cast members had to wear. Versace went through a variety of initial designs, the first few not being that faithful to the original design from the comics especially with the helmet, and having a lot of chainmail pieces, but was eventually revised byVersace and then Porteous into the version that was mostly in line with the comic's original design for Dredd's uniform.
This Judge helmet was worn by stunt double Ignacio Carreno throughout production
