Prop Edition of 'The Sun' Newspaper
 

A prop newspaper used in the production of Ron Howard’s 2013 sports-drama, Rush. Based on a true story, the film follows racing icons Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl) and James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) during their infamous 1976 Formula One season. As their rivalry on and off the track begins to take its toll, a near-fatal injury leaves Lauda fighting for the championship and Hunt in pole position to take the title.

This prop edition of the Sun newspaper and others were used as James Hunt learns that his wife Suzy (Olivia Wilde) has left him for Richard Burton, serving as the final straw in the breakdown of their turbulent marriage. The headline of the newspaper reads “Suzy Joins the Burton Show” and is accompanied by a short article and photos of the recently separated couples. It contains thirty-six pages in total, including three duplicate double-pages featuring an article about Suzy Miller which can be seen earlier in the film as Hunt and Miller meet for the first time. This newspaper remains in excellent production-used condition and measures approximately 39 x 31cm (15.25 x 12.25”).
