First Draft Script
 

A First Draft script for John Huston's Escape to Victory or Victory in the US starring Sylvester Stallone and Michael Caine, which was itself based on the 1963 Hungarian film Two Half-Times in Hell.

This first draft was is credited solely to Evan Jones so I assume Yabo Yablonsky was part of the rewrite. It has the basic scenes that make up the finished film but is much longer and includes many more establishing shots and cut scenes which probably got trimmed for either time or budget. The scenes are also in a different order and only some of the dialog remains.

It is also not as light as the final movie. It is a little darker, Hatch is a little less willing to go back and help is team and he also manages to squeeze in quickie while in Paris! Gunnar is also crippled after the Gestapo broke both his legs.

This is a clean script on white paper with a light blue card cover and bound with brass fasteners.

A great glimpse into the origins of a classic film.
