These are hero sound dampening earplugs that Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges) uses to avoid being affected when he paralyzes Raza and later Tony Stark on his quest to build the Iron Monger armor.

Based on Stark Industries technology using high frequency sonics, the little illegal device paralyses those whose hearing is unprotected for approximately 15 minutes. To prevent falling prey to the high frequency sonics produced by the taser, the wearer must wear specially designed ear protection which cancels the noise created by the tasers. They actually create their own sound waves that mimic the incoming noise in every respect except one: the earplug’s sound waves are 180 degrees out of phase with the incoming waves, which cancel the specific frequency that causes paralysis.

The pair of production-modified blue hearing aids feature blue LEDs with micro on/off switches.
